Website Accessibility and WCAG Compliance Services

An accessible website works for people with disabilities, reaches more customers, and reduces legal risk. We audit, fix, and build to WCAG standards, tested with real assistive technology.

What is website accessibility?

Website accessibility means designing and building websites that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and use. The global standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Accessibility is referenced in laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act in the US, the Equality Act in the UK, and the European Accessibility Act.

Many websites block people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification, through missing labels, poor contrast, or inaccessible forms.

We test with automated tools and by hand with assistive technology, then fix issues in design and code. Accessibility overlays alone do not make a site compliant, so we fix the underlying code.

Our approach to website accessibility

Every website accessibility engagement at Hudace rests on three principles.

  1. 01

    Clarity

Visitors understand what you offer and what to do next within seconds.

  2. 02

    Speed

Fast, lightweight pages on every device and connection.

  3. 03

    Findability

Built for search engines and AI crawlers from the first line of code.

Signs you need website accessibility

  • You sell to US, UK, or EU customers.
  • You received an accessibility complaint.
  • Forms cannot be used with a keyboard.
  • Your site has low colour contrast.
  • You rely on an accessibility overlay widget.

Frequently asked questions

What is WCAG?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the international standard for web accessibility. Most organisations aim for WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 level AA.

Do accessibility overlays make my site compliant?

No. Overlays cannot fix most underlying code issues. Real accessibility requires fixing the site itself.

Is accessibility a legal requirement?

In many markets, yes or increasingly so, including under the ADA in the US, the Equality Act in the UK, and the European Accessibility Act. We are not a law firm, so please confirm obligations with your legal adviser.

How long does remediation take?

It depends on the number and type of issues. Many sites can be remediated in 4 to 12 weeks.

Do you test with screen readers?

Yes, including NVDA and VoiceOver, plus keyboard-only testing.

Can new sites be built accessible from the start?

Yes. That is the most efficient approach.
